Her little body shook, alone and afraid. The sadness weighed heavy on her body. She longed for comfort and safety. So she climbed into Mary's open arms and nuzzled against her. Mary wrapped her mantle around her and drew her closer. The little girl sighed with relief as she listened to Mary's heartbeat. Slowly her little body stopped shaking as her nervous system began to regulate to the steady rhythm of her Mama's love. So this is what being nurtured feels like.
